Tanya Arthur

A strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented information technology executive, Tanya Arthur leverages her technical and clinical experience to serve as a cross-functional business partner, driving high-quality population healthcare outcomes by developing and implementing technology improvements. In her most recent role, Tanya served as the vice president and chief information officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, where she led the development and delivery of technology-enabled transformation programs that aligned with growth objectives and drove the achievement of organizational goals. During her tenure, she introduced a 3-year data and analytics strategy leveraging insights critical to the company’s care practices and decision-making, improving its market positioning.

Biography

Prior to Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tanya developed and implemented new operating strategies, infrastructures, and governance practices to accelerate the achievement of IT objectives for Summa Health’s multi-channel integrated healthcare network. She built an entire IT support organization and used internet-of-things technologies to create a new virtual strategy that maximized the network’s patient care capability.

Before joining Summa Health, Tanya spent 12 years in multiple roles with Catholic Health Initiatives in Denver, CO, leading the development and delivery of IT strategies, portfolio management, business relationship management, and digital transformations on both regional and corporate levels.

Known as an industry thought leader, Tanya has been featured in multiple publications, including BOSS Magazine and HealthTech Magazine, in which she has discussed how to elevate customer experiences in healthcare. She was recognized by CDO Magazine in 2021 for her accomplishments in leveraging technology, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to optimize the value and results of her organizations. She also received a nomination for ORBIE’s 2021 CIO of the Year Award.

Tanya holds a Master of Science degree in computer information systems from Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. She obtained her certification as a  Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO) through the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and completed her Project Management Professional (PMP)  education via the Project Management Institute (PMI). Tanya currently resides in Parker, Colorado.
